Falling in Fashion

This year's drought has caused quite a delay for leaves changing colors. We got all the way through October with green still on the trees, and when November hit, I stopped to wonder if we had received enough rain to even produce a brilliant color show of red, yellow, orange, green and brown in the forests.
Luckily, the few inches of rain that fell in the last couple of weeks, and the now cool nights, were enough to make the leaves fall in fashion again this year. Today after church proved a perfect time for a hike at Cheaha State Park, boasting the highest point in Alabama.
The highlights of the day: the ride to the mountains with the windows down, a sunny day with a cool breeze, stunning colors of leaves, peanut butter crackers and water for snacking, coming out of a clearing to a breathtaking view the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains...and Bryan's first hiking trip!
Bryan and I on the Bald Rock trail.

I just have to add there is no saturation added for the above picture.
At the edge of the lookout point--and saying through his teeth, "Hurry up and take the picture, please!"

This is a pretty neat idea. If you don't want to-- or can't--go through the trails to get to the lookout point, a wooden "trail" has been built.
