Christmas Remix

Our usual Christmas Eve tradition includes 2 church services, dinner at Fat Boys and a ride through the Lights of Life with a box of warm Krispy Kreme donuts and cold milk. However, this is the first year we had to change our menu because our Greek friends at Fat Boys (my dad went to high school with the two brothers) closed earlier in the year. So we stopped by FBC Smyrna (where we currently attend) so that my mom could play the piano for the first half of the service. Then, we headed over to Smyrna Christian (just a few blocks away where I grew up going) for our yearly reunion and time of worship with old friends.

By Kyle's suggestion, after the candlelight service we headed over to the Varsity downtown for a "lube job," as my mom calls it with some PCs, FOs, red steaks and naked dogs! The world's largest fast food drive-in was packed--it was a lot of fun! This remix will be repeated!

(After all of that, we just couldn't do donuts, so we drove around the Paces Ferry area looking for lights. The governor had a great tree sparkling, but I can't say much for his neighbors--it was a little disappointing.)

Christmas morning: Kyle modeling his 650 down jacket (which is apparently pretty good for his new Canadian residence) next to an inflatable/mountable moose head. Both of these things will flatten down to nothing in his suitcase on the return trip (qualities his presents needed to have this year).
Carly wondering why she just opened her own ratty (I mean, "loved") pair of tennis shoes for Christmas...there was money stuffed on the inside with a note encouraging this worn-shoed-woman with very particular shoe interests to shop for a new pair.
Everyone is very excited about the versatility of my new super cool silicone kitchen bowls...I still can't believe the box says they can go in the oven!
