Cultivate: My dad planted four types of lettuce when I moved into my new house--a quick way to make a new place feel like a home. Every day I leave and come home to new growth. I'm on my way to doing my part of becoming a localvore!
Cut: By cutting the large outside leaves first I hope to keep the plants growing for another round of harvesting.
Consume: After repeated washing (with Fit) I had a delicious salad yesterday with no bitter after taste--so fresh!

wonderful blog, now i want a fresh salad. i love the last pic with the shadow in it. you are the best shadow picture taker i know. love it, love you. mwah.
It's great to get a vocabulary lesson from reading your info. Since you're only 90 miles away, that's local enough for us, so feel free to bring some lettuce home. They do look festive lining your walk. Yea! Glad there is no bitter aftertaste, which means that their in prime season and getting the right nutrients. I agree with you, the broccoli on the left looks like anything but broccoli. Good luck with that. You look very careful at cutting the leaves. Hopefully Baer and Bryan are enjoying this as well.
So much better than flowers. Sorry to hear the birds liked your spinach.
Love you, Daddy
that looks awesome Erin! I remember using fit on stuff at home like fruits and stuff..pull out a strawberry spray on the fit wash it and eat it. Or wait for Momma to wash em and leave them in that thingy in the sink. oh thats even better
