There is a special growing season in Atlanta, and many other cities in the US and Canada, from November 13-December 12 this year. What can you grow in four weeks that can yield around $150,000?

A Moustache!
Moustaches for Kids is an annual fundraising event and this year Atlanta is hosting a chapter for the second year in a row. The participants are the 'Growers' and they must shave clean at the beginning of the event and then photographically document their process for four weeks.
When I asked my friend Nick Brown (progress pictures above) why he was growing a little extra something above his upper lip, he explained he is doing it to help fight cancer for kids. And that's just how this silly-themed fundraiser is geared to work. The stache is a starter for a conversation where Growers ask for donations for children's charities.
In its first year, the Atlanta chapter raised more than $27,000 for CURE Childhood Cancer, a local 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. This year, the goal is to reach $30,000.
