I rode my bike to see the Horton flowers again Friday. I should have remembered that once you learn a great spiritual truth, God gives you the opportunity to practice your faith through it.
My dad called Friday afternoon to tell me some sad news. Our faithful friend and four-legged family member, Scarlett, had been hit and has passed away. I was home by myself and was crushed by this news. I hopped on my bike. The wind pushing past my face made my tears cool, and I peddled fast to the bright purple flowers I had just discovered the day before.

I managed to remember some of what I've been studying in the scriptures and thanked God for the many years we were given the opportunity to care for one of His creatures and the joy she provided us. It's ok to feel sad and miss all her funny ways (we certainly do)--she was a good little rat:)

Seeking out solace in sorrow, it's nice to remember how fun this little dog was. She had the very best emotions I've ever seen a dog generate--she could practically cry on command! And she was always fairly compliant to let us put huge Christmas bows around her neck, sweaters on her body, rain boots on her feet and a pink dog pencil sharpener on her head.

Yeah for Scarlett! She was an awesome dog and now im sure shes feasting as that was one her favorite past times. Maybee then a run followed by a long nap...also one of her favorites. No more blindess and deafness for Scarlett : )
Sweet Scarlett...we were so sad to hear the sad news. Sweet sweet tribute.

I didn't realize how much an old Grandma could feel so sad about a little dog.She was my favorite(sorry Charlie)mainly because she was little and I could hold her in my lap and love on her.
