Today we went with JSU Field Schools to Terrapin Creek for a day made for kayaking--great weather, just enough rainfall, refreshing water and fun people.
Sad disclaimer: This photo is pre-kayaking and pre Sintos losing his shirt and glasses trying to help someone get off a rock:(
Even though it was just a class 0-1, we learned some great paddling skills and did some swimming and relaxing too:) We pulled out at one point and had a little lunch on a sandy bank.
Our seasoned guide--the fun day began when we asked him about what time we would finish our trip and he replied, "Depends on how many ham n' cheeses we go through."

Looks like fun! Chilly fun, but still fun!
Kayaking looks like so much fun. I've never tried. It's on my list of things to do! I must admit I'm a bit worried about flipping. As I'm sure you recall I am not best swimmer. Is it easy to get out of them? While kayaking is something I want to do, drowning most definitely is not!
how fun it this. Looks like ya'll had a great time and well worth the wait, since it was delayed before. Very cool way to spend a hot day. thanx for sharing - daddy
