This building is on the water and is beautiful-it is right across from the hippo cafe, which i haven't eaten at yet. actually, come to think of it, the most i have eaten outside of the hotel is a crepe and some bread. i suppose i haven't been able to pass up the free food yet. so all of my french gastronomique dreams have thus far been lived out among the smells of the half eaten plates in the dish room once the hot, moist air hits them:) (b/c the good food is for the clients, you know). oh, sorry, tangent-yes, the plaque outside the building says "Hotel," but I know it's not an actual hotel, so i need to find out what it is. Many things here are called hotels-the police station is called Hotel de Police, but I definitely don't want to check in there! Posted by Picasa

Hi Erin,
I have heard of Evinrude before. Your Great Grandfather had an Evinrude outboard motor. I think they are still a pretty big company of boats and motors. Love MeMaw
