I'm Procrastinating

fall in Jacksonville

I'm giving fair warning: this is a procrastination post. I have a very large critical paper due tomorrow (that means it's not a research paper, it actually has to be all my own thoughts). So for a minute I'll share my thought about the little snack I had when I took my 4 o'clock break. I put together pomegranate seeds, tangerine slices and blueberry yogurt and as Rachel Ray would say, "Yummo!"

Now, when I saw the brown box of beautiful red fruit at Wal-Mart, I was delighted. I went right over and picked out two nicely rounded and richly colored pomegranates. As I did this, a man carted by and said, (reading in your best Alabama accent), "Haey, whut ar dem thangs?" I gave a quick explanation about how you break them open and they carry sweet, bright red seeds inside that are delicious. I added that the juice is healthier for you than the suggested daily glass of red wine, and assured him there were plenty of recipes online in case he needed ideas on what to do with it. Then his wife showed up. She seemed perturbed that her husband was talking to me and when he asked me to tell his wife about the fruit, she said, "No thanks, I'll stick with the pomegranate candle I have, but that's about it." The man continued saying, "Are you sure we don't need some of those?" That's when he got the look.

Then, I traveled over to the not so large herb section and was picking out a little piece of ginger root. A lady came over from at least 15-20 feet away and asked, "So whut is thaet?" I decided to keep it simple this time and just say, "ginger root." But then she asked, "Weyell, whut ar yuh goin tuh do with iyet?" Sticking with my keep it simple idea, I just said, "I'm going to make egg rolls tonight and put a little in them." So then she proceeds to give me the hand and as she walks away, tells me "Huney, no, I'um frum Jahcksonville." Standing alone by some broccoli and cabbage my head turned up and to the side like a confused dog as my eyebrows furrowed. I laughed outloud to the veggies and said, "But you came up to meee!"

Ah well. So back to my good snack...it seems that when i was cutting up my pomegranate, the bright red juice sprayed all over my nice white kitchen. Luckily, a Clorox wipe (my kitchen friend) took it right off the counters, the coffee maker, the stove and the window sill-man can those things spray! However, the wall I was working in front of got spacled in red and the cleaning wipe didn't help at all. If you have any suggestions, please help! Right now, I have purple specs on my wall! I'm sure a techie like my dad or sister could explain why the wall changed colors too, so those answers are welcome as well. However, if anyone is going to tell me to repaint the wall, that has already been my only idea.

Ok, ok, I'll go back to American Drama:)
