Happy Christmastime in our apartment:) Finals are over and Michelle is nearing her Winter Break. We decided to celebrate our Christmas last night by baking treats, singing along with every Christmas CD we own, having a special drink and exchanging gifts. It was a great night--it must have been, because Michelle was up till 1!

Michelle baking one of her family favorites...sandtarts (almond cookies).

Me doing my therapy for the evening. I thought it would be fun to try a new exciting recipe. I flipped through Southern Living Christmas books at home and found a recipe for peppermint candy cane cookies. They taste and look great, but I would suggest not attempting them unless you have an evening of good company and music ahead of you:) It took a little while to finally perfect my technique, but I've got it down to a science now. It's a good deal for a dessert lover like me, though...I wouldn't dream of eating them fast, flippantly and in multiples. I feel the need to enjoy the good flavor of each bite and respect the time it took to make them!
