Since my last post I've taught a band camp. The meaning of this is twofold: one, practice in 105-degree weather with continuous sweating for a week is draining but fun and two, school is about to reconvene:( Bryan staffed the camp as well and we were fortunate to have some pretty good kids, awesome band parents and some great staff.
My longest bestest friend, Lauren, came into town this week from NOLA so we've been taking in the city that we'll both soon be without. Today, I picked up this month's Skirt magazine and it posed a question regarding which three restaurants you would take someone to if they came to visit you in Atlanta. Hmmm...that's a tough one for someone who enjoys food experiences as much as I do, so even though there is a list of at least thirty-three, here are the top three I came up with first (think word association game):
1.The Varsity-for Southern fried favorites and the institution it is
2. The Flying Biscuit-for different and delicious food that's healthy and quirky
3. Apres Diem-for the flavors of ambiance that match the food and drinks
"What'll ya have?"

Flicks on Fifth: Sitting on the sloping hill of Fifth Street downtown eating rice noodles and cinnabons; waiting for the sun to go down and the movie to begin.
Eating at the Flying Biscuit with Lauren and Joe-all she had to do was murmur (or text, rather) the words, "I've never been there," and it was a done deal-and a delicious one at that.
I'm sorry the above picture quality is less than stellar. I forgot we weren't sitting in cafes that would care whether a flash went off or not anymore!
My brunch this afternoon-the description alone leaves your mouth watering: Fried Egg Salad...
organic field greens, tossed in a balsamic vinaigrette, topped with oven-roasted rosemary potatoes, crisp turkey bacon, two fried eggs and a drizzle of spicy chipotle aioli. Served with a fluffy, flyin' biscuit!
If you had to name three, which would they be?

Willy Rae's on the Square in Marietta would be first. Then I'd hop in my time travel machine and go to Cellini's that used to be near my house. And for third, I'd try somewhere new that's opened since I moved.
I like Eats, Fellini's, and any diner with large slices of cake!
dont forget about taco bell
I would also choose the Varsity-then checkout downtown, next would be Canoe-with the marvelous food and walk to the river, and finally it would be Three Bears followed by a stroll around the Marieta square.
i just want the salad from flying biscuit. you nailed it, mouths watering.
