Celebrate Good Times

come on! I apologize for posting about New Years before Christmas, but these photos were loaded onto the computer first...

On New Year's Eve we went downtown to watch Carly march in the Chick-fil-A Bowl parade, celebrated at Fanfest in the World Congress Center, watched a less-than-exciting bowl game at the Georgia Dome and rung in the new year on 10th Street.

Since I wasn't marketing myself, at Fanfest, we ran around getting marketing freebies: a Chick-fil-A brownie sample, a Chick-fil-A milkshake sample, free Chick-fil-A chicken biscuit coupon, Camping World koozies, Chick-fil-A koozies, Yellow Jacket t-shirts, beef jerky, temporary Tech tattoos and a ride down the inflatable slide.
We even supported Mrs. OKelleys registers at Chick-fil-A for dinner!

The Tech fans were most excited during Fanfest because the game did not provide much entertainment :(
But...give a stadium full of Tech fans marketing material on their seats and when the game turns sour, they'll begin to engineer some fun. During the third quarter, paper planes soared from every level of the dome. It was quite a sight!

We cheered as paper planes, even some from the top tier, made a safe landing in the endzone!

A sad but good thing was that because the team wasn't doing so well, fans began clearing out before the second quarter ended. By the time we left in the fourth, it was a mellow ride on Marta and an uncrowded walk back to Tech's coliseum parking lot.
Carly got done collecting uniforms with five minutes to go till midnight. Before walking back to her house, we paused in the parking lot to count down to 2009.
Even though the team didn't win, the day was filled with good times!

you've done it again - made life exciting. Like life, this day was filled with a combo of good and bad and without exaggeration on the good or sweeping under the rug the not so good - you've depicted an accurate recounting of the hours concentrating on the big picture. Good for you and good for us to have you always reminding us of such. Especially since Carly is off to Singapore, Kyle to Canada and you to Alabama (and then who knows from there) this is a great present you've provided over these Christmas holidays - love you Ragamuffin.
