Tonight we took Carly to the airport. At this moment, she's sitting on a plane departing for San Francisco. She's going from there to Hong Kong and then from there to her final destination: Singapore! Carly was one of a couple Ga. Tech students who got accepted to study on this island at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula (...under China). In the 11th century, this small island got the name Singa Pura; Lion City.
In the city where it is cited a lion has never even lived, Carly will be living in a dorm, attending the National University of Singapore and continuing her education as an industrial engineer. She's one smart cookie-now, she's going to be one smart warm cookie:)

She's ready to take on the world...and she may have to since her first flight has already been delayed. She's even doing it in style (matching her pack!)

I'm so excited for all the new people and places my sister is about to experience. She's going to learn much more than engineering this semester! I'm not sure whether she'll actually try some local food or write too much in her journal (her technical brain just doesn't lean towards my love for recording life on paper), but for now, I simply send her on with prayers for a safe journey and arrival and ask for you to do the same. We should hear from her in Singapore really late tomorrow night.
