Sorry for the delayed posting!
On Tuesday Sintos turned 25 and we celebrated with friends and red velvet cake!
Friends who were happy to celebrate whether cake was involved or not (though they were pretty stoked about it).
Tuesday morning I had the idea to make Sintos a fun jar to carry around for his birthday. I sent a message to people around campus who would see him that day telling them to dig in their couch cushions and wish him a "happy quarter-of-a-century" by throwing a quarter into his jar.
People seemed to have fun with the idea and at the end of the day he had an old soup jar with a good handful of coins.
I had no idea the next day would be my UNbirthday!
Because I went to a basketball game and out to dinner for Bryan's bday the night before, I had to take Wednesday off work to finish up homework and a presentation I had to give in class that night. While completing my outline, Lee, the UPS man, came walking up my driveway.
I didn't remember ordering anything. Hmmm....
Then he handed me the above box sent to me by my most wonderful friend Lauren in New Orleans.
Inside was the best King Cake I've ever had! It was baked fresh and sent 2nd-day air. And it is simply amazing. What a wonderful new tradition! (this could be a tradition, right? because I don't think I can ever eat a Winn Dixie king cake again:) haha)
There is even a cream cheese filling wrapped by that cinnamon bread goodness! This was a really wonderful surprise-I'm so fortunate to have such thoughtful friends! THANK YOU!
