Bonjour!

Hello everyone! I am finally en France. I arrived safely on Thursday. That night I was exhausted because I had not slept in so long, so it was not long after introductions that I ate dinner and went to sleep. The next day was my first day of work. I worked from 6:30-4:30-quite the introduction! I felt like a mute for most of the day, trying to soak in the language, instructions and names. I can already see I will learn something new every day.

Through God I have already learned to only take one step at a time and not worry over things. I spent my second night in New York with Julie and Perry (cousin and husband). Poor Perry lugged my suitcase with three months worth of stuff on four or five different subway trains as well as up and down all the stairs. But I was so glad to be with familiar faces after my trouble. That morning I checked out of the hotel and went back to the airport to fix my ticket-By the time dinner arrived, all I had had to eat was dried apples and bananas-thanks to my mother. Perry fixed what I will refer to as my feast of new york-steak with cheese and proscuitto, carrots, and artichoke hearts-very good. The next day we all took Luna, their dog, to the park. I had a great time and am so appreciative for their hospitality.

The hotel is closing, though, so I will write again soon.

Cool! So you found at least one way to connect to the outside world. Seems as though the laptop is not hooked up yet as the remarks about the hotel. I'm sure things will go much better now that you have the right shoes! It was such a great sight to see your posting. Take care an make sure you get every shutter opened - or better yet, maybe the second shift for a lady with little sleep.
Love you - 1 Corinthians 10:13
