When I named this blog site "adventure," I never knew how true that would turn out to be from the very beginning. It seems that a fire alarm went off at JFK airport right before my plane from ATL took off. For precautionary reasons, the flight was delayed. Upon arriving in New York, I got some exercise as I ran down the terminal, but I was too late to board my connecting flight to France. New Yorkers are an interesting people to try and have customer service. After several trips around the airport, I was able to re-book my flight (can't leave till Wednesday), find my luggage, and secure a hotel room for the night. But God promised I wouldn't go alone on this trip, so I'm rollin' with it; working on it.
Since I'm only at the beginning of my trip, I opted for a cheaper hotel room. Although I was happy to have free airport shuttle service and wireless internet, I got what I paid for:) Just need a pillow, though. On my left is a wall of mirrors and to my right is a view outdoors; a short bus graveyard...hope that's not a sign for something...I don't want to know what! At least since I'm on my own I can keep the heat on.
I won't lie, I do just wish I were on the way to my final destination. I feel a little stuck in the middle right now. But I'm going to try and make the best of it--I'm going to call Julie and Perry tomorrow and see if they'll take in a stray! I'll just look at my slight delay as a side trip to the Big Apple.
Thanks to all of you for prayers and support. I'm very fortunate to have all of you in my life. And I'm also glad I decided to put my cell phone in my backpack:)
Much love and many blessings
Goodnight

Enjoy the sites Ragamuffin. It was so very good to hear your voice regardless of the tone. I especially liked hearing the description of the room. Can't wait to see photos on here. We gave Bryan a good sendoff for ya. We owe Perry and Julie. Know his homecooked meal beat the dried apples and bananas -
Au revoir
Sounds like you're learning a good lesson for France before arriving - roll with the punches! :)
Hope the rest of the flight goes more smoothly. Call us if you need anything.
