Hi guys!
I'm at Place de Comedie, otherwise known as le centre ville (city center). My roommate, Darina, helped me find an internet café that is one hour for one euro- c'est bon! Now you have also discovered the only useful thing for a french keyboard; saying words like café that require a nice little accent.
This week I work at 6:30 every morning-not exactly my favorite you could say. This might not be the right venture for right after college. I just graduated, I have a nice degree, and now I'm setting up breakfast and washing dishes like I'm practically mute:) Everyone has told me the first two weeks would be the hardest, though. At the end of the day I'm mentally and physically exhausted, but I'm sure to leave the hotel or they will find work that needs to be done! You see, it seems to be more beneficial for them that we live in the hotel, in room number one, right next to the kitchen and the reception desk. Like the other day, we were sleeping, but then the phone rang and to work we go. It's sort of odd I think, but since I can't put everything to words, into my black and white I go:)
I think I'm doing well, though. If I didn't understand a mumbled "this pan is very hot," I would be quite toasted right now! But it's ok, one of my new favorites comes off these hot pans: chèvre pain--you slice off a pretty thick looking round of goat cheese off what seems to be a goat cheese log, you put it on a piece of bread, and you toast it-wait, it gets better...but it might not sound good, so just trust me...when it comes out all warm and toasty, put some honey on top-yummy!
So look out Kyle, I think this will be coming to a pan near you soon!
Thank you all for your prayers-I can definitely feel they are being received, as I know I would not be able to do this on my own.
Also, I got my from my mom, so shout out to her! If anyone else sent mail, thank you too- it takes about 7 days to get to me.
Back into the cold I go-
love you guys
Erin

You are so precious and funny. Your descriptions are a hoot!! This is all so new to us so no telling how many errors we will make, but it is fun to try all of these new things. Love you lots and are praying. You are a joy

Hey Girlie!!!
You sound like your getting the all out full experience!! I hope your not to cold over there, and I hope the new shoes are working out well!!! I'll tell you what, your mom was cracking up all night about the "coming to a pan near you", she was so tickled, it was funny. Charlie's birthday went really great! Kyle should be sending you a picture of his "frosty-paw" birthday cake. You'll love it!
Hi Erin -
Sounds like you hit the ground running! I'm sure that the first 2 weeks are in fact the hardest. My experience would say so, anyway. Please feel free to call/Skype us if you need anything.
Some of our friends started a church in Montpellier a few years back. Let me know if you want to me to get details for you.
Lastly (for today!), if anyone is reading this and wants to send Erin a gift, you should buy the books "Two Crosses" and "Two Testaments," by Musser. They take place in Montpellier and are great!
Du courage, Erin!
