Birthday Celebrations

Saturday morning I turned 24. Luckily, my day was mostly free. I put off reading and writing articles for a day and there was no football game, only a quick home performance that night. So Michelle and I got up and went to the coffee shop on the square (a great new addition to Jacksonville--finally!). When we got there, the square was blocked off and the Mountain Festival was going on. Now, it's not quite as exciting as the Taste of Marietta, but I love that it was a nice day and people were out and about on the streets. At the coffee shop, I sipped on a Harvest Spice Latte, flipped through a magazine with Michelle and a local Jazz group (our friends) were playing in the corner. Then, we walked through the square, looking at the vendor's tables, and we found my birthday present on the fly; a fun silver ring. All in all, a wonderful and relaxing morning. I even got to try out a couple of tractors--(yes, I do live in Alabama...there may have also been some cloggers performing on a little stage and a man sighted in a confederate uniform who wasn't performing at all...)

This truck wasn't part of the festival, but Michelle liked it. It is kinda fun when you spot things like this around town.

This is me trying to open Carly's present. She must have used an entire roll of masking tape. It wasn't until I really got into it, and got a few wiffs, that I questioned why it had an odor. She then got to explain that she found the tape in the basement, and it was pretty old. Luckily it didn't stink up the cute shirt she got me, although I was a little worried:)
After a little gift giving, we got to eat some yummy food my mom made and brought over--chicken in a creamy mushroom white wine sauce with egg noodles...i may have put in a special request for a little French dish:) MMmmmm
