Happy Landings!

After church this past Sunday, we smelled good food cooking. This is a normal occurrence-usually someone having a baby shower or a feeding a visiting high school mission team--we just know it's never for us and we have to walk past it to go to the orchestra room and put up our music and instruments. Sunday was different. Sunday, we walked by, and then into, the said party room and when Kyle walked in, everyone sang, "For he's a jolly good fellow." Our fantastic orchestra surprised him with a Going Away/Happy Landings lunch!
Everyone chipped in and wouldn't let anyone in our family help at all. They even decorated the room with posters, flags, cards and things about flying. One of the guys made Kyle a Red Baron airplane too.
Kyle was more than happy with the "build your own taco salad" buffet.
After eating lunch (followed by tons of desserts), Kyle was presented with a monogrammed survival bag. Everyone in the orchestra filled it with essentials they thought he would need. We heard things like, "Those rubber bands are to hold your plane together."

Thank you to all who had a part in this special meal. It really meant a lot, not only to Kyle, but to us as well. You guys have a wonderful spirit and great hearts.
