I was up for 24 hours yesterday between a long work day, a trip to Carrefour (I go there a lot, it's like Wal-Mart, but better b/c there are fun French products there-but it's not open 24 hours), and going out with my roommates last night. I'd say I really made the most of my Friday. I worked from 6:30-4:00. I saw more dishes than ever yesterday, and after lunch I found out why. The manager called all of us into the restaurant (even us low level kitchen workers) for a champagne toast and dessert! He said we had all worked very hard and had a record 102 people for lunch, plus a VIP lunch in the breakfast room. So that was fun and something I did not expect. (Although, it set in afterward that I would have liked the surprise more if he were going to wash the dishes:) But luckily Lori came in to work to relieve me!)
On my walk to Carrefour I saw about 3 minutes of snowflakes and my Aisha thought I was crazy to think it so interesting. She also says she could never come live in Georgia if we don't have snow on Christmas.
I also got to Skype chat with my mom AND Debi and Gordon Hamby last night! How fun-I was just checking my mail when my computer "rang," and when I answered it was my mom. Whenever we talk my roommates, especially Lori, get really excited and try to share the headphones with me. They think she sounds "so American." And I'm their first American, so I love all of their questions and explanations. My mom loves to hear them talk in the background too, so it's good for everyone all around. Last night Lori was telling my mom about some good Belgian beer to get, and this started a chaotic discussion between all three roommates about which was better, Belgian or German beer. It was hilarious:)

I'm so happy you are enjoying your immersion in France. Although I must say you're carrying the mark of a newcomer if you still think Carrefour is better than Walmart!!! No way. I have dreams of Walmart. :)
